After Global Celebration in Nigeria, The Church of the Lord (Worldwide) Continues Its 100th Anniversary Festivities — Province of Europe, America & Oceania to Host Grand Centenary Events in London

London, United Kingdom — Following the historic and official 100th Anniversary Celebration held at the Spiritual & International Headquarters in Ogere, Ogun State, Nigeria, The Church of the Lord (Worldwide) joyfully continues its global centenary commemoration in the Province of Europe, America & Oceania. The Provincial Headquarters located at 25 Surrey Square, London SE17 2JU will host a landmark series of events honouring 100 years of prophetic vision, spiritual impact, and global mission.

The celebration opens with a Soul-Lifting Variety Night on Friday, 26th December 2025, scheduled for 7:00 pm to 2:00 am. This power-packed night of praise will feature renowned gospel artistes including Tobiloba, Seun Oke, Hularstringz, Supremebliss Band, along with the Host Choir, the Children’s Ministry,  the Mother’s Union Choir and many more. Guests will enjoy worship, vibrant music, dance, dramatized presentations, and inspiring performances showcasing the diverse spiritual culture of the Church.

The centenary festivities will climax on Sunday, 28th December 2025, with the Centenary Thanksgiving Service and Reception beginning at 11:00 am. Dignitaries expected at this historic service include:

• His Holiness, The Most Rev. Dr. Rufus Ositelu, Primate of The Church of the Lord (Worldwide)-President, World Council of Churches (WCC) for Africa, and Preacher of the day
• His Grace, The Most Rev. Dr David Fabusoro,

Administrator General-TCLW;

• Senior government officials,
• Religious leaders from various Christian denominations,
• Eminent community and cultural leaders from across the United Kingdom.

A major feature of the Thanksgiving Service will be the conferment of honourary titles by His Holiness, The Primate, on distinguished individuals whose contributions have significantly enriched the Church and wider society.

Brief History of The Church of the Lord (Aladura) Worldwide

Founded through a profound spiritual encounter experienced by Prophet General Superintendent Dr Josiah Olunowo Ositelu on the quiet midnight of Sunday, 17th May 1925, The Church of the Lord (Worldwide) stands today as one of the foremost indigenous African churches with global presence.

Prophet Ositelu’s divine vision, marked by the appearance of the Intense Light and the Big Eye, symbolized God’s revelation, guidance, and calling. This historic encounter laid the foundation for a ministry boldly established on prayer, holiness, spiritual gifts, prophetic insight, and the universality of the gospel of Christ.

From its humble beginnings in Ogere, Ogun State, Nigeria, the Church has grown into a worldwide mission with provinces spread across Africa, Europe, the Americas, Australia, and Asia—remaining steadfast in its mission to “Preach Christ to All Nations.”

The 100th Anniversary, therefore, honours not only a century of God’s faithfulness but also the enduring legacy of its founder, the resilience of its ministers, and the vibrant faith of its members across generations.
